Master's degree programsEDMUND S. MUSKIE GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM (MUSKIE) The Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program (MUSKIE) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State, and implemented by IREX (International Research & Exchanges Board). MUSKIE provides opportunities for Master"s level study in the United States to citizens from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. OSI/FCO CHEVENING PROGRAM This is the jointly-funded scholarship for postgraduate students of the Open Society Institute and Foreign Commonwealth Office. The scholarships are for one-year Master program. Each scholarship provides one year's tuition fees, a stipend to cover living costs, and return air travel form the scholar's home country (for one person only). Applicants will be expected to be under 35 years old, be both nationals and resident in Kyrgyzstan. They should have outstanding academic qualification and excellent English. Participating host universities are University of Edinburgh, University of Oxford, University of York, and University of Leeds. Usually, application process starts in October. OSI/DAAD PROGRAM The program provides new methods of learning and teaching, allows making research studies, and gives an opportunity to cooperate with German colleagues. Scholarships are jointly-funded by the Open Society Institute and DAAD for undergraduate scholars from one month up to three years. There are several directions in this program: Master Degree, Scholarships for Thesis defending, and Scientific Trainings. Applicants should be both nationals and resident in Kyrgyzstan, under 32 years old, have a Letter of Invitation from German University, and have proficient German or English. SOCIAL WORK MASTERS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM The program is designed to provide training in social work to implement reform, create policy, and foster the development of social work in Kyrgyzstan. Upon the conclusion of the fellowship, fellows return home to apply their new knowledge in practice. This is two-year graduate program in social work. Participating host universities are Columbia University and Washington University in St. Louis. OSI/CNOUS/FRENCH EMBASSY PROGRAM The program provides jointly-funded scholarships of the Open Society Institute, French Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, and Centre National des Oeuvres Universitaire et Scolaires (CNOUS). This is one-year graduate program in Philosophy, History, Sociology, Political Science, Anthropology, Ethnology, Economic Theory, Legal Theory, and Public Administration. Applicants should be both nationals and resident in Kyrgyzstan, hold an undergraduate degree, and have proficient spoken and written French.
