In today's economy, we know that financing a college education is always a consideration. At Berkeley College, we offer more than $31 million in grant and scholarship opportunities. Berkeley College also offers students a tuition freeze, based on continuous, full-time enrollment, that ensures that the cost of study will not rise during their enrollment.

At Montana State University, all international undergraduate applicants will automatically be considered for new student scholarships valued at up to $4,000. These scholarships are available to qualified international students, freshmen or transfer, applying to begin their studies either fall or spring semester.

Selection is based on previous academic achievement, test scores, potential for success at MSU, and overall fit with the institution and its academic programs. Scholarships will be available until all are awarded; therefore, students are encouraged to submit their MSU application early.

HARVARD INCREASES FINANCIAL AID TO LOW-INCOME STUDENTS

Harvard College will expand its investment in undergraduate financial aid this year by more than $10 million, providing a record $166 million in need-based scholarships to undergraduates. Beginning in the fall of 2012, financial aid will be further increased for low-income students by raising the income level under which parents pay nothing for the cost of attendance.

To make its generous aid program easy to understand for potential applicants, Harvard College also launched a "net price calculator" on its financial aid website, customizing financial aid information for individual students and their families, in accordance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008. With the new calculator, applicants and their families can enter their financial data to estimate the net price they will be expected to pay for a year at Harvard.

THE UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND AWARDS 45 FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS

The University of Richmond awards 45 full tuition scholarships to exceptional first year students each year. The scholarship recognizes engaged scholarship and leadership in four broad designations: Oldham Scholars, Science Scholars, Artist Scholars, and Boatwright Scholars.

First-year admission applicants who apply by December 1 compete for 45 Richmond Scholar awards. The selection committee considers each student individually, evaluating their application in a highly personalized and holistic manner. The writing sample is particularly critical because it communicates some of the special contributions a student might make to the University. While grades and test scores are important, the committee is aware that they do not represent the whole student and, as a result, they are not used to automatically include or exclude an applicant from consideration.

THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP PROGRAM

As the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state and as a Carnegie Research University (high research activity), the institution's primary functions are the creation, dissemination, and application of knowledge through a variety of programs and public service activities.

The goal of the graduate assistantship program at The University of Mississippi is to give graduate students the chance to learn, work and grow in their respective fields. While learning, the graduate assistant (GA) earns money for tuition and expenses and grows through contact with professionals in his or her field of study.

The largest source of funds for graduate support are from teaching, research and graduate assistantships offered by academic departments, along with partial tuition and non-resident waivers. External grants, awards and fellowships are also types of funding that graduate students can apply for. POSTCOMMUNIST CORRUPTION: CAUSES, MANIFESTATIONS, CONSEQUENCES

After more than two decades of research on post-communist transformations, a consensus has emerged that corruption is a major phenomenon associated with the evolution of the former "second world." The purpose of this conference is to explore the analytical, conceptual and comparative dimensions of this phenomenon and to examine recent empirical findings and field work on corruption in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

We encourage proposals from young researchers who have already completed their dissertation research (ABD) or have defended their dissertation within the last three years. This will be an intensive 2-1/2 day working conference (March 29-April 1, 2012) during which each of the selected papers will be critiqued by the other participants, including all invited presenters, keynote speakers, and a team of discussants made up of Miami University faculty. The Havighurst Center will provide accommodation in Oxford, ground transportation to and from the airport, and partial travel funding ($300 for domestic travel and $800 for international travel).
